Silence: the power of every great thinker

Silence has one major advantage: it gives no one a clue as to what your next moves will be. —Napoleon Hill.

Many people in the world mind their own business; they do not engage in unnecessary debates. Many people in the world just need some topics to criticize people and spread negativity around them. Maybe this is one of the reasons why social media became so popular in modern times. Because everyone wants a tool to spread criticism. If we think about the older times, things are not the same as today. There are no platforms for people to criticize them. When I read the comments on the videos, I often see only negativity. I don’t know why people don’t shut their mouths and mind their own business.

I consider myself very fortunate not to be addicted to social media. From the start, I had no interest in creating an account, making friends, or uploading stories. I believe that these are ridiculous concepts in social media, where people simply show off their lifestyle to others by sharing stories. We never knew what was going on in their life by just watching stories and posts on social media. If you truly enjoyed certain moments in your life, you would never want to share them with others. Because there are always people around you who are the best friends you could ever have, and you have great times with them.

Let’s have a conversation about how celebrities tend to behave like mannequins and encourage young people to live a life of luxury. If you see great figures in the past, they are not actually good-looking people. They are just average people like you and me. Their mentality is what sets them apart. How they attract people is not by their looks, but by their character and ideology. They have the ability to make some real difference in the world and a positive one. Silence is one trait you often observe in them; they typically avoid pointless arguments. We common people have the quality of just fighting over stupid arguments. I’m making an effort to cultivate this trait in my life, but there are moments when I find it extremely difficult to stay out of arguments. Even though I am aware that the argument is foolish and will not lead to a positive conclusion. The world is becoming more aware of the value of silence—fewer words, more action. We admire the silent people—those who mind their own business and build. I like to mention a quote from Napoleon Hill: “Consider adopting the habit of the Silent Hour when you will be still and listen for that small still voice that speaks from within, thus discovering the greatest of all powers—creative vision, the one power that can shift you from the failure side of the river of life over to the success side. During your silent hour you will be alone, alone with yourself and God. This is one hour you cannot share with any other. You must go into the silence alone, of your own free will and accord. After you get there, you must speak for yourself. No one can speak for you and nothing will happen—save only that which you inspire by the use of your own initiative. Also, nothing of great importance may happen to you outside of your silent hour except that which you inspire by your own personal initiative, and creative vision inspires the development of personal initiative.”
